Catalonia is one of the prime tourist regions of Europe. Its popularity comes from the quality of the region's hotels, their facilities, the natural and cultural attractions of the area. It now offers unsurpassable facilities for golf enthusiasts, for practice throughout the year thanks to the kindliness of the the climate. Possessing a long golfing tradition (the first course was created in 1914), this region of Spain now provides 26 golf courses, a public course, three rustic course, 10 pitch & putt facilities and more courses in construction with the steadily growing demand. Most of the courses are located along the extensive mediterranean coast (Costa Brava, Costa del Maresme, Garraf, Costa Daurada), in the vicinities of Barcelona (Vallés, Baix Llobregat, Osona), or up the foot of the great Pyreneean mountain range (Cerdaña, Ripollés).

La Manga on the Costa del Sol isn't the only place for golfing holidays in Spain: that far south can be too hot . . . and you need to fly. But here's a place for you to try . . .
